Units - Unit Converter for your iPhone App Reviews

I bought this software because I like its interface and use it mainly for currency conversion. But conversion rates are incorrect (for example, on Monday August 11th, it shows an FX rate EUR/USD of 1.54 while it actually is at 1.50). And impossible to find how to force an update of exchange rates !

too bad, no french polynesian franc...waste some money...uhh how much in my currency ? I will never know with units !

When an update is this good it deserves a new review. The little tweaks and enhancements are all great (fine use of the extra screen space for 4" users, pull down list, etc.), but the crown goes to the seamlessly integrated calculator. Incredibly useful; now that its there, its so obvious! The % calculations are great for sales and discounts, especially when they are in a foreign currency. I could go on, but its better you try it yourself :)

Good app, with many units. only in english but great. From and to in reverse way, why ?

Ive used better unit conversion programs. Not as user-friendly as it could be...

Exactly what I need for travel, though had to deduct one start: could not find a way to input a negative temperatur to convert. Low degrees fahrenheit e.g. will correctly convert into a negative celsius temp, but I cannot start out with a negative number. Update: At the time I bought it, Negative temperatures could not be entered, due to the lack of a minus sign. I received a reply from support, that this should be taken care of with the next update. It has been taken care of. Thus I could add the remaining point.

Does exactly what it says + great GUI, I like it.

Nicely done so far. Not sure about the "look" but the usability is good IMO. Suggestions for additional modes: pressure, force, acceleration and torque - all with common US, Imperial and ISO units; fuel consumption (miles per gallon (US and imperial) and Litres per 100 km) and a bonus point for a concentration that also allow input of solute molecular mass ! - That should suffice for v.1.1 (:

... Along with things suggested by others, the need for a unit like $ per gallon to € (euro) per liter is desperately needed, to complete the circle of miles/gal. and liter/100 km. Maybe mode of unit prices or similar.

Used to be unique with its one tap favorites/from/to buttons. The new interface takes that away and adds a stupid calculator instead. Dont update to 2.0 if you liked Units for its interface specifically!

This is a great app for a price I had gladly paid for. However, like what other people said, a negative temperature option would be nice to have, not everyone lives in nice warm places. Id also like to see more currency selections. Thanks.

I would have bought this app had it not been for the virtual calculator look. Im not a fan of the fake physical calculator. The developer should consider making the look consistent with the existing iPhone Calculator and even implement a more complex calculator when turning the iPhone on its side.

The possibility to enter negative values is a great addition. Very clean and well done interface, I could swear it was done by Apple. Only missing thing is a landscape mode with more quick keys.

This is exactly the kind of app I was hoping to see in the new App Store. Its useful, attractive, and the price is right. For 99 cents I didnt think twice, and its no wonder you see it near the top of the most popular paid apps. I like the design of it as well. It looks good, and doesnt make frivolous use of the new Cocoa Touch widgets (like that spinning dial -- the star wipe of iPhone UI -- that everyone loves to use, no matter how inappropriate). The programmable shortcuts are nice. My one request is that Id like the swap button to swap not only the units, but the values, as I sometimes do a chain of conversions and would like to carry the results forward. Oh, and by the way, the "key click" feature supposedly introduced in the latest update does not work for me (I hear nothing). Doesnt really matter, just thought Id mention it. Great little app!
